Some new content, the Taurus Judge
Posted by: Bob Monday 11/01/2010 04:13 PM est
It seems like forever since the last update, but here it is, another weapon review. We finally got around to reviewing the Taurus Judge. To be completely honest, Jake, one of out staff writes, wrote this article back in march but I just got around to formatting and uploading it now (I guess that makes me lazy). I was feeling a little motivated for some reason... We have a few more ideas we are kicking around, so there might me more content soon...ish. The new review can be found in our Weapons and Equipment section under Handguns.

Finally, the review of… The Hammer!
Posted by: Bob Monday 01/25/2010 12:50 PM est
It seems odd to me that we just now got around to reviewing one of the most basic and oldest of modern man’s tools. However, without further adieu we proudly present The Hammer. It fared pretty well, about as good as can be expected from a short range melee weapon. I strongly suggest everyone read our review especially seeing as how 95% of you have one or more hammers in your household at this very moment.

Review updates – M4 Carbine and the KA-BAR
Posted by: Bob Friday 01/22/2010 03:26 PM est
After some more extensive testing and comparison to similar products, the M4 Carbine and the KA-BAR combat knife have been re-reviewed. Both still fair excellently, however were put into better perspective in the grand scheme thing. I suggest everyone who was a fan of the original reviews go back and give the new reviews a quick read through.

Join us in welcoming the AK-47
Posted by: Bob Thursday 01/21/2010 02:06 PM est
At long last after countless e-mails and inquiries, we have finally reviewed the AK-47 and it's effectiveness against the hordes of the undead. The old guy fared pretty well, and I hope you enjoy the read. You can check out the review in our Weapon and Equipment here AK-47 Review.

Also as a minor update we upgraded the Forum from SMF 1.1.9 to the newer SMF 1.1.11. It's a pretty transparent change for our members. But I think it's… neat.

 Time for some updates
Posted by: Bob Wednesday 01/20/2010 12:24 PM est
We thought the site needed some updating. So we completely revamped the weapons section. Say hello to Weapons and Equipment v2.0. The new version will feature reviews on a wide variety of new weapon. Some old reviews are also in to process of being re-written. The new section also breaks down weapons into much more manageable and easy to navigate sections that better address what a given weapon or piece of equipment is best suited for.

Our team has also massed a much larger collection of unique weapons so with any luck, the reviews should be pouring in. Hope you like the section update.

 New Article: Ammunition Guide
Posted by: Bob Monday 05/04/2009 03:24 PM est
Well saying this is a "new article" is not 100% true. It has in fact been there for a good solid month. I just haven't gotten around to saying anything about it since it not completely finished. There are 2 broken links in it. I was hesitant to talk about the page until those links are resolved, but since they are nearing completion, I figure I can, at the very least give everyone a sneak preview. The article is titled Ammunition Guide and can be found under the Articles/Plans section.

Here we will give you a brief overview of the different bullets, casings, and cartridge types to give the average person a better understanding of what's out there, what to look for, and what's best to use against our undead foes.

 A day of site maintenance
Posted by: Bob Wednesday 03/04/2009 12:04 PM est
I have some nice transparent upgrades for you guys. First off, our forum, and all it's tools have been upgraded from SMF 1.1.6 to SMF 1.1.8, this was a much-needed upgrade, and the process went smoother than I expected. On that note, we also installed 3 new anti-spam tools to both the website and forum. Hopefully it makes browsing a little cleaner. Like I said, not really an exciting upgrade, but kind of a big deal. Enjoy...

 Updates... Some big, some small
Posted by: Bob Thursday 02/26/2009 03:06 PM est
Let me start off by listing the fun updates. A new Long Term Survival Article has been added to the site titled "Raiding a Store". (This article will teach you the basic steps as well as the "do's and don'ts" associated with raiding an abandoned store. It applies to a wide variety of stores including delis, supermarkets, and shopping centers.) It's a great read, and it's somewhat long so it's also a great time killer as well. As far as "not so cool" updates go, the style sheet for the site has been significantly updated to make articles flow better. It is a transparent change for most of you, but we all think it's a big improvement. Lastly, you will start seeing these small icons appear all over the site. Here is an example of a page heavily utilizing them. They are basically link markers, and help you locate internal link thought the pages better. I hope you like the new content, and site improvements.
